Known as The General, Ryan Sipes set out on a mission to be successful in every genre of two-wheel motorsports under the sun including, but not limited to: motocross, supercross, flat track, hard enduro, TT, and the infamous Erzberg. It’s something no other motorsports athlete has ever done, and Sipes did it in style with multiple wins along the way.
THE VURB MISSION:
While concurrently producing Red Bull Moto Spy in 2019, we decided to add even more adventure to our schedules by documenting Ryan Sipes as he travelled from Hawaii to Austria and everywhere in between on his quest to become the baddest dude on two-wheels.
The goal was to make sure this series, General Sipes, looked, felt, and sounded different from anything and everything else we were doing, especially as it was competing in the same exact space and demographic.
We did this through unique storytelling, both documentary style scripted and non-scripted, fancy camera work, and lots of fun script writing on the story side of things. When it all came together, the final product captivated the hearts of motorsports enthusiasts everywhere as it told the story of their new favorite one-of-a-kind racer, The General.
